Outermost Writers: Beston and Coatsworth

Outermost Writers: Beston and Coatsworth, their daughter exposes the tensions under the surface of a successful two-writer household. Beloved Cape Cod nature writer Henry Beston and prolific children’s writer Elizabeth Coatsworth spent the first weeks of their honeymoon in Beston’s Outermost House and built a dual-career life together. This collage for performance of the writings of Beston, Coatsworth, and their poet daughter Kate Beston Barnes reveals the deep conflicts and enduring love in this marriage of true minds.
