An award-winning playwright, Tim Benzie is a super-fan of Murder, She Wrote, Agatha Christie, and all things cosy crime. He is the creator and performer of Solve-Along-A-Murder-She-Wrote, the cult hit event which debuted in his native Australia and has delighted audiences on extensive tours across the UK and Ireland. Tim brings a wealth of camp knowledge of the show and its guest stars to this hilarious interactive experience, introducing audiences to the wonders of the Fameometer and the Suspiciometer. He will soon be taking Solve-Alongfurther internationally, with an upcoming tour in the United States.
Since the first show at the Royal Vauxhall Tavern in late 2018, Solve-Along-A-Murder-She-Wrote has presented 265 performances in 110 theatres across the UK, Ireland, Australia and the USA, to an estimated 40,000 people. The show played to rave reviews and packed audiences at this year’s Edinburgh Festival Fringe and was one of Time Out London’s 50 Great Nights Out in London twice (2021 and 2019).
His latest creation, one-man show It’s a Mystery!, debuted to acclaim at the Edinburgh Fringe and is set for further performances at the Adelaide Fringe Festival.
Based in London, Tim is the co-writer of the Royal Vauxhall Tavern pantos Goosed, Rubbed, Slipped and Pricked. He is the co-producer of cabaret club night PopHorror with Paul Joseph and regularly stars in PopHorror immersive events including Horror Prom and Camp Friday 13th. And many, many years ago, Tim starred as Detective Tim on Disney cable kids show Studio D.
Cult hit event Solve-Along-A-Murder-She-Wrote comes to Provincetown for the first time with an interactive screening of the classic Murder, She Wrote episode “Paint Me a Murder”. Jessica Fletcher visits the island hideaway of an artist friend, but soon there’s a murder that only she (or you!) can solve!
Solve-Along-A-Murder-She-Wrote is a hit UK show that has toured the UK, Ireland, Australia and is coming to P-Town on 27 June to kick off the season in camp style.
